Dragons Den Half Marathon in San Antonio Texas

The Saturday Aug 13, 2016 Dragons Den Half Marathon in San Antonio, TX is a USATF sanctioned 2 loop course.  The course is a mixture of asphalt, concrete, dirt roads and technical trails.  With this in mind, along with the heat, I wouldn't consider the course walker friendly, even though the event allows 4 hours.  With the technical trails added in there, the course is not going to be comparable to a road half marathon.  Those that can withstand the heat and trails, are in for some great post race goodies, .... beer and turkey legs!  Additionally, the first 100 to register receive a technical running tank, and all finishers receive a regular finisher shirt and a blazin' lookin' medal.  Visit the Texas half marathons page and scroll to August half marathons for a direct link to the event.

Badass Brazos Half Marathon in Waco Texas

Night Moves Trail Half Marathon in Hitchcock Texas

Wildfire Half Marathon in Denton Texas

The July 17, 2016 Wildfire Half Marathon in Denton, TX will be a hot one no doubt.  The course starts and finishes at a football stadium, and while the course is pretty flat, the average temp in Denton on this date is around 93.  The current forecast for this year's event is high of 97 with no chance of rain, so it's going to be a HOT one! Tech shirts included for all participants.  Registration is still open and will be open race morning as well.  Packet pick up is also race day for all participants. XTERRA Magnolia Hill 21k Half Marathon in Navasota Texas

The July 16, 2016 XTERRA Magnolia Hill 21k Half Marathon trail run in Navasota, TX is a beginner friendly trail running course, with a mixture of single track and jeep roads through piney woods on an "event only" ranch, finishing at a lake on the ranch.  Event shirt included, along with food and beer post race.  While this is a hot time of year for running in Texas, the tree cover should help for shade on the course.  To register or to learn more, visit the Texas Half Marathons page and scroll to July half marathons for a direct link.
